Retail Therapy

I am not a practical shoe girl; I prefer heels, snakeskin, spikes, patent, anything ridiculous and precariously high, really.  However, knowing I'd be on my feet all day walking on cobblestone roads, I thought I should be a grown up and find something a bit more sophisticated than my rubber flip-flops.

Why is it so hard to find a fun ballet flat to take on this trip?  Not too sporty, not too orthopedic-- it was a very Goldilocks situation.  I bought not one, not two, but literally 14+ pairs of shoes (Pumas, Michael Kors, Lacoste, DKNY, etc) prompting Zappos to upgrade me to VIP status.

I ended up returning the majority of shoes, but what did I end up keeping?
