Well, hi, old friend!
According to my reader, it's been 280 days since we last got together. I guess it's been awhile.
But it's January 1st and you know how much I love those yearly reflection posts.
It's officially 2015. New year, new hopes, new dreams, new experiences. And I can't wait. However, I'm tying up some loose ends in life and this little space of the web might need to be a chapter closed.
I'll be relocating-- hopefully, we can catch up soon.

I'm running away this weekend to the East Coast-- friends, family, and ShakeShack await. I'm having issues trying to print my parking confirmation. I hate LAX. I hate flying. Ugh. Last time I did this flight, I didn't have to worry about the transportation logistics for this terrible red-eye.
He came to pick me up after work. I threw my carry-on in the trunk and looked a hot-mess in my most-homeless, anticipating a sleepless overnight flight.

pie caramba!
Pi day was last Friday, and because I'm way geekier than I'd like to admit, I was excited about hosting my annual Pie Day Party. AKA the one day of the year I have more than three people over and I don't even make them use coasters. Living crazy, guys. (But you still have to take off your shoes, let's not be ridiculous now).
It was a serious carb/sugar overload, but in the best possible way. I got diabetes from the Tollhouse cookie pie, dirt pie, apple cheddar pie, and banana cream pie. The savory represented with steak and ale pie, frito pie (so redneck, but so delightful), and good ol' pizza pies. And there were "pie themed" cocktails to add to the festivities.
Lemon Pie-Inspired Cocktails
- Rim the class with coarse sugar.
- In a cocktail shaker, mix several cubes of ice, the juice of half a small lemon, one shot of vodka, half shot of triple sec, and a tablespoon of sugar*.
- Pour chilled, and if you're fancy, garnish with lemon slices.
*It's way worth it to make simple syrup so you don't end up with globs of sugar at the bottom of your Solo cup.

I'm not really sure what happened. Last time, it was an incident, a specific moment of time. I could pinpoint to the exact second when he told me what had happened and I shattered a framed picture against the wall.
